Eclips - Gift kits, hat & mittens

Gift kits with hand-dyed yarn and Náttúruprjón's pattern. The pattern is dedicated to Icelandic nature.

I've been toying with the idea for a few months of making a hat and mitten pattern to mark the solar eclipse. No pattern idea came for a long time, but then it suddenly arrived, and once that happens things move fast for me. This time I started by dyeing the yarn — the yellow color — and then created the pattern. I'm quite happy with the pattern and think it turned out well. I'd also like to point out that there are two patterns on the backs of the mittens that face in different directions — you can also choose to have them facing the same way or differently, just make sure the thumb doesn't end up on the same side on both mittens. I have decent experience with this and have worked out a good rule so it doesn't happen too often, but with this set I had to be careful since I started with the left mitten, which I otherwise never do. I'd also like to note that this is pattern number 50 since I made my first pattern back in mid-July 2019.

I wouldn't wait to get the gift package, since it's not certain it will still be available after the solar eclipse.

There will be 3 package options available, as usual: a hat, mittens, or a hat & mittens package.

Traditional two-color stranded knitting for a hat and/or mittens with a Latvian braid and a simple ribbing. The pattern is irregular. Long floats only occur in a few places, and these can be secured behind every third stitch.

Good instructions along with links to tutorial videos are included; knitting needles are not included. The yarn is 85% merino wool / 15% nylon — lovely to knit with.
