Klósigar, hat and mittens – pattern

Klósigar = cirrus clouds

This is one of those patterns that came about while I was doodling. Usually the mittens come first, and then the hat follows.

Stranded colourwork with simple ribbing. The pattern is regular. Clear instructions with links to tutorial videos are included.

Yarn: Náttúruprjón hand-dyed yarn, 85% merino wool / 15% nylon, 100 g / 400 m, or a similar yarn that gives the same gauge.

Needles: Double-pointed needles 3 mm [US 2.5] and 3.5 mm [US 4].
Gauge: 32 sts = 10 cm [4 in] on 3.5 mm [US 4] needles.
Notions: 1 stitch marker.

Hat:
Size: Depth 22 cm [8.75 in], circumference 56 cm [22 in].
Main colour: Blár (blue), 42 g [1.5 oz].
Contrast colour: Dökk appelsínugulur (dark orange), 32 g [1.1 oz].

Mittens:
Size: Length 25.5 cm [10 in], circumference 18 cm [7 in].
Main colour: Blár (blue), 42 g [1.5 oz].
Contrast colour: Dökk appelsínugulur (dark orange), 32 g [1.1 oz].
