Keikó is knit from the top down in the round. You start with the ribbed collar, cast on with two strands so the collar is easier to sew or knit down before you begin the body. The yoke has regular increases together with the colourwork chart, and the body and sleeves are knit in stockinette down to the ribbing. The light blue colour frames the sweater.
For many years I had the cat brothers Tígull and Keikó, absolutely lovely brothers, brave and gentle cats. The first two sweaters I knit from Fjallalopi from Ístex get their names. Both sweaters have very similar motifs, but the yoke increases are quite different, and the other sweater, Tígull, has colourwork all the way down. I haven’t finished that pattern yet.
