The inspiration for this pattern when is from stained glass windows of Akureyri church I walked by during one of my visits to the north and the sun shone so beautifully through the glass.
Traditional double-band hat and/or mittens knit with two-color double ribbing. The pattern is regular. Long bands ( carried yarn) are formed only in a few places, which can be fixed in every third loop behind. Total instructions are included, which are suitable for both beginners and advanced users.
Yarn: Náttúruprjóns, hand-dyed yarn, 85% Merino / 15% nylon, 100 g / 400 m, or similar to achieve knitting stability.
Needles: Small circular needles / stocking needles no. 3[US 2.5] and 3.5 mm [US 4.0].
Gaugh: 32 L = 10 cm on needles no. 3.5 [US 4.0].
Other: 1 knitting marker.
